Ooh don't you just love conspiracy theories? Just watched American Idol Top 5 performance on Youtube and this time they get to sing two songs in a show. So in the beginning Ryan Seacrest tells them that the judges will only give feedback after their two songs, then halfway he tells them to give their feedback after the first round. So Paula starts reading off her notes about Jason, the first performer, and rambled onto his 'second song' which she felt he lost his charm and left her empty, that he wasn't fighting hard enough to stay in the top 4. And everyone was like huh?
Then she realised her mistake and tried to cover up by saying it's David's notes, which did not tally at all especially when you DO see Jason's second song
It was just horrible, emotionless and he looked so defeated, like even the posture was all slumped. And this was when Paula's notes made sense! So did Paula destroy the credibility of AI?
Fans are stoked that the show seemed to be rigged, that the producers decide which are the contestants to do well, and scripted the judges' comments. Hence that could probably explain why Jason was so spiritless on the second song. Come on, any credible contestant would want to fight and stay in the show especially after Paula's 'look into the future' comment. Unless Jason really doesn't want to be in the show, which I don't really care, coz he always seems to be in his own dreamy world and I loathe that he's still in the competition coz of fangirls. But I at least expected him to put on a more earnest performance, regardless of vocals.
If the latter is true, then perhaps it tallies with speculation that the judges are not hearing the live performance for the first time, hence they already have notes on their performances. And Jason just can't be bothered to improve his performance. However, this sparks off another theory that judges already having pre-conceived ideas during rehearsals and scripted their answers then, so it doesn't really matter whether contestants did well in the real show or not.
Conclusion: Paula is drunk. David Cook is brilliant =)
