Happy CNY!
This was quite some time ago when I was searching for inspiration for our photo competition--
Overlooked: On Second Glance
Saw this lone jigsaw piece right outside my hall. Wanted to get a close up of the ground with the piece but felt self-conscious about squatting down there lest anyone walked by. I need to be a more thick-skinned photographer!

Made do with this instead

Right outside the MRT station. Inspired by Ce-Yi's Chinatown project too! Haha this actually got Bronze in the photo competition!

A rather evil looking Chinese lion. Normally they're red in colour =/

I don't think I've ever played with firecrackers before. How sad. I think my generation made do with sparklers and milder things that go pop!

These look so cute, though I'm not really sure what they are

This picture looks a tad cluttered but I quite like it. It sort of reflects the haphazard decorations at individual stalls

The background in focus

SO many stalls selling these Taiwanese treats. I got a free sample, they're not bad really. Sweet
Went to the Tooth Relic Temple (Wonder what's the origin of the name!)
Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of my Nikon D40 at low light conditions =)

Close up of the colourfully lit balls at the Tooth Relic Temple. People hang their wishes on the trees

Symmetry: I'm not sure which goddess this is

I love this row of lights!

This could've been a better composed picture but I was hesitant to intrude on their personal space.

Along some random alley
Inspiration from
The Lock Project as seen from Ce-Yi's site.

And last of all, my photo which was awarded 2nd place so I get a Canon Selphy printer yay!
