    Title : Well, Do ya?!
    Time : 1:44 am

Earworm: Do You Want To~~Franz Ferdinand

    Feb 16
8.00pm>> The concert hall was packed. 6000 tickets sold out. Anticipation heavy in the air.
8.20pm>> Franz Ferdinand opened their concert with ‘This Boy’. Lukewarm fans KL and I didn’t know the lyrics to most songs, except for their singles. So we just improvised along. Yea… I want a car! I want a car! There was also a song 40’ that mainly comprised of Lalalalalalalala….made for easy sing-along.
Early in the set came the current single Do You Want To, which got the crowd into a moshing frenzy. “I should be down there!” KL shrieked. But we just made do with screaming “You lucky lucky you’re so lucky!!” to each other.
No doubt, they were explosive in their up-tempo tunes, Take Me Out had everyone stomping their feet. Other infectious songs featured were The Dark of the Matinee, Darts of Pleasure, Tell Her Tonight, I’m Your Villain, You Could Have It So Much Better… but it was the slow numbers that made it memorable. I loved the melodious keyboard on Eleanor Put Your Boots On; Walk Away with a melancholic tinge, the soulful yearning in Auf Achse and the ballad Come On Home. (but don’t forget to leave!)

Still, they blew everyone away with their 10-minute long finale This Fire, featuring an amazing drum solo (or trio since two guest drummers blended in with creating a rhythmic beat.)

Throughout the concert, I couldn’t really make out what lead singer Alex Kapranos was saying. Sounds Italian with hardly a hint of Scottish brogue. But I managed to catch him inviting fans to Intercontinental Hotel for a fewd partay. (food party). “If you have problems getting in, ask for the General manager, he’s a good friend of mine”
The next day in the newspapers, only I found out that 150 fans turned up with fast food and fruits, which they declined, but gamely posed for pictures and autographs. And the main reason for the invitation was coz Alex was pissed off at the General Manager for telling him off rudely for eating in the lobby! Rock and Roll!
